Thanks to the generosity of local residents, businesses and community organizations, a fundraising effort led by the Ashland Masonic Lodge #156, Ashland Chapter #309 Order of the Eastern Star and the Masonic Home of Missouri raised $13,452.06 to help support Southern Boone families by reducing outstanding student meal account balances.
The funds were raised through community donations and the successful Fish Fry Fundraiser held in April. With support from the Masonic Home of Missouri's matching program, the impact of local contributions was significantly increased, allowing the organizations to make an even greater difference for Southern Boone students and families.
Representatives from the three organizations presented the donation to Southern Boone School District leaders during the June Board of Education meeting.
"This incredible donation is a testament to the caring and generous spirit of our community," said Southern Boone Superintendent Dr. Tim Roth. "We are extremely grateful to the Ashland Masonic Lodge, the Order of the Eastern Star, the Masonic Home of Missouri and everyone who contributed to this effort. Their support will make a meaningful difference for students and families throughout our district."
Bruce Martin, Secretary of Ashland Masonic Lodge #156, said the success of the fundraiser reflects the community's commitment to helping others.
"We were overwhelmed by the support we received from the community," Martin said. "From those who attended the fish fry to those who made donations, every contribution helped us reach this incredible total. Our goal was to support local families, and we're proud to partner with Southern Boone to make that happen."
Martin said the partnership between the Masonic organizations and the community demonstrates what can be accomplished when people come together to help others.
"The generosity shown throughout this effort was truly inspiring," he said. "The support from the community, combined with the matching funds provided through the Masonic Home of Missouri, allowed us to make a much greater impact than we could have on our own."
The donation will be used to help reduce outstanding student meal account balances and provide assistance to Southern Boone families.
"We know that many families face financial challenges throughout the year, and community support like this helps ease some of that burden," Roth said. "We are grateful for the continued partnership and generosity of these organizations and everyone who contributed to this effort."
District officials expressed their appreciation to all those who supported the fundraiser and helped make the donation possible.
The Ashland Masonic Lodge #156, Ashland Chapter #309 Order of the Eastern Star and the Masonic Home of Missouri have a long history of supporting charitable causes and strengthening communities across Missouri. Their collective efforts through this fundraiser will have a lasting impact on Southern Boone students and families.
