Update

Dear Southern Boone School District Families,

The Southern Boone School District hosted a Four-Day School Week Community Presentation on Thursday, October 9th, to share information about why the district is exploring this option, what it might look like for Southern Boone, and the key considerations involved.

The evening included a 30-minute presentation highlighting statewide context, financial and salary information, potential schedules, and topics such as student learning, childcare, food access, special education, and athletics and activities.

Following the presentation, a question-and-answer panel featured representatives from nearby four-day school districts—Hallsville, Harrisburg, and Versailles. The panel included a superintendent, principals, a teacher, and a parent, who answered more than 20 questions about student learning, staffing, implementation, instruction, and community impact.

A recording of the entire program, including the presentation and question and answer session, is available by clicking the link below:

No decision has been made at this time. The school district is continuing to explore this option through additional surveys, ongoing committee meetings, and district administration discussions to gather feedback and share information. A final proposal will be presented to the Board of Education in December 2025 for consideration and a formal vote.

We appreciate your continued interest, engagement, and feedback as we explore this important topic together.

Sincerely,

Dr. Tim Roth
School Superintendent
