Please join us in welcoming Kaytlyn Gabriel to the Southern Boone School District! Kaytlyn will teach second grade at Southern Boone Primary School and brings four years of experience teaching first, second and fifth grades to her new role.
Kaytlyn earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Missouri in 2023 and holds a certification in Early Childhood Education. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in education from the University of Missouri–Kansas City.
Kaytlyn is excited to join Southern Boone’s small but mighty community. “Getting to be part of a school district that believes everyone has value and purpose is an honor.”
Outside of school, Kaytlyn enjoys spending time with her husband, Martez, their 2-year-old son, Toliver, and their Bernedoodle, Fredo. She also enjoys exploring new coffee shops, reading on her Kindle, working out and, when time allows, taking a good nap!

Please join us in welcoming Jeff Barringer to the Southern Boone School District! Jeff will teach chemistry and biology at Southern Boone High School and brings two years of experience in education to his new role.
Jeff holds a master’s degree in teaching and previously served as an assistant principal at Christian Chapel Academy in Columbia. He is passionate about helping students understand complex ideas and watching them succeed.
Jeff became familiar with Southern Boone while traveling to high schools across Missouri as a college recruiter. “I was so impressed with the students and staff at Southern Boone that when my oldest child reached school age, I moved my family to Ashland so my children could be part of this district.”
Jeff has coached youth soccer, football and basketball for nearly 15 years. He is active in his church and serves in its worship band. Jeff is also a military veteran who served from 2002–2008, including two combat deployments during Operation Iraqi Freedom, and previously served as an Ashland police officer.
Jeff and his wife, a Southern Boone Middle School counselor, will celebrate their 24th wedding anniversary this fall.

This morning, Southern Boone School District employees gathered for our annual All-Staff Back-to-School Breakfast and Convocation! 🦅❤️🖤
School Superintendent Dr. Tim Roth provided a district update and shared an encouraging message with staff as we prepare for the year ahead.
Thank you to the Middle School Student Council for leading the Pledge of Allegiance, our High School Modern Band students for sharing their talents, and motivational speaker Charles Marshall for inspiring and encouraging our staff as we begin the new school year.

Hanna earned an Associate in Arts from Moberly Area Community College and a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Education from the University of Missouri–Columbia. She completed her student teaching at North Callaway High School this spring.
Hanna previously observed at Southern Boone High School and taught summer school in the district this year. “The kids are amazing, and I’m so excited to share my passion for agriculture with them. Teaching FACS will be a new and exciting challenge for me!”
