The Lady Eagles will look to finish their outstanding season on a high note as they take on Cape Notre Dame in the Class 3 State Third Place Game this afternoon!

Thank you to everyone who joined us Tuesday evening for the ribbon-cutting and open house celebrating Southern Boone High School's new Agriculture and Innovation Wing!
Community members had the opportunity to tour the new facility and see the classrooms and learning spaces that will provide exciting opportunities for Southern Boone students for years to come.
A special thank you to the Southern Boone County Chamber of Commerce for partnering with us on the ribbon-cutting ceremony and First State Community Bank for sponsoring the dinner and program!
The new wing was funded through the district's $11.6 million no-tax-rate-increase bond issue approved by voters in April 2024. Thank you to the Southern Boone Community for their continued support and investment in our schools, helping provide new opportunities and improved learning spaces for our students! 🦅 ❤️🖤

🥇 NATIONAL CHAMPION! Congratulations to Tyler Fleming for being named the National Champion in Agricultural Mechanics Repair & Maintenance Proficiency!
🎓 AMERICAN FFA DEGREES! Congratulations to Bryson Slinker and Wyatt Cunningham, who received their American FFA Degrees during the national convention!

Our Southern Boone Middle School 8th Grade Beta Club members recently visited Southern Boone Primary School to read with their younger Eagle buddies!
Through this yearlong program, 8th graders volunteer their time to build connections, encourage a love of reading and serve as positive role models for our younger students.
We are so proud of these 8th graders for their leadership, kindness and willingness to mentor the next generation of Southern Boone Eagles!

October 19–23, 2026, is National School Bus Safety Week! The Southern Boone School District joins the Missouri State Highway Patrol in reminding drivers, parents and students about the importance of school bus safety.
🚦 REMINDERS FOR DRIVERS:
🛑 STOP when a school bus has its red lights flashing and stop arm extended, as required by Missouri law.
👀 Stay alert in school zones and near bus stops. Children can be unpredictable.
🚗 Slow down, be patient, and allow extra time during morning and afternoon bus routes.
⚠️ Under Missouri's updated law, drivers who illegally pass a stopped school bus while students are loading or unloading face a $500 fine.
🎒 REMINDERS FOR STUDENTS:
Remain seated, keep aisles clear, and follow the bus driver's instructions.
Use the handrail when getting on and off the bus.
Stay at least 10 feet in front of the bus when crossing the street.
Always pay attention to your surroundings.

After wrapping up their energy unit, our 4th grade students welcomed Keith Mueller from Boone Electric Cooperative this week for an engaging lesson on how energy travels through our everyday lives and important electrical safety tips. ⚡🔋
Students enjoyed connecting what they learned in the classroom to real-world experiences while discovering how to stay safe around electricity!

🚧 CONSTRUCTION UPDATE: Roof Repairs Underway at Southern Boone Primary School! 🏫
Roof repairs are underway at Southern Boone Primary School as part of the district's ongoing efforts to maintain and improve school facilities!
Crews are replacing the roofing system on the original Primary School building. Work is expected to take approximately one month to complete, weather permitting.
Once the Primary School project is finished, crews will begin roof repairs on a section of Southern Boone High School's Math and Science wing.
These projects are funded through the $4 million no-tax-rate-increase bond issue approved by voters in April 2026.
