Please join us in welcoming Lydia Armour to the Southern Boone School District! Lydia will serve as the assistant band director and full-time building substitute teacher at Southern Boone High School.
Lydia earned her bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Illinois State University in 2019 and her master’s degree in Music Education from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 2026. She has taught band to students in grades 6–12 for four and a half years and at the collegiate level for two years.
Lydia is excited to work with Southern Boone’s students, staff and community. “I’m looking forward to providing the community with amazing music!”
Lydia’s husband, Manny, is also a band director. Together, they have a 7-year-old guinea pig named Paco. In their free time, they enjoy staying active, cooking, binge-watching shows and opening Pokémon card packs.

Please join us in welcoming Megan Thompson to the Southern Boone School District! Megan will begin her first year as a full-time classroom teacher, teaching seventh and eighth grade math at Southern Boone Middle School.
Megan graduated from the University of Missouri–St. Louis in December 2025 with a bachelor’s degree in Middle School Mathematics Education and is currently pursuing her master’s degree. This past spring, she served as a long-term substitute teaching eighth-grade math, Algebra and Geometry.
Megan has also worked in education through substitute teaching, dance instruction and leading LEGO-based summer camps. “I can’t wait to get to know my students, help them grow in math and build relationships with families and staff.”
Outside of school, Megan enjoys dancing and recently stepped away from teaching dance after eight years. She also enjoys spending time with family and friends, hanging out with her dogs and doing anything creative.

Thank you to the Boone County Sheriff’s Office for leading Active Threat Response Training today for teachers and staff from all four Southern Boone schools.
This important training provided staff with strategies and information to help them respond confidently during an emergency. We appreciate the Sheriff’s Office for sharing their time and expertise and for their continued partnership in helping keep our students, staff and schools safe.

Please join us in welcoming Savannah Snow to the Southern Boone School District! Savannah will serve as a behavior interventionist at Southern Boone Middle School and brings 10 years of experience in education to her new role.
Savannah’s experience includes four years in an elementary classroom, two years as a physical education coach and four years as a behavior interventionist.
Savannah is excited to help students develop social and emotional skills they can use throughout their lives. “Teaching students these skills and seeing them grow is so rewarding. I can’t wait to build those relationships!”
Savannah has been married for nine years and has five children ranging in age from 11 months to 16 years. She enjoys spending time with her family, loves all sports and is a huge Kansas City Chiefs fan.

Please join us in welcoming Jeff Barringer to the Southern Boone School District! Jeff will teach chemistry and biology at Southern Boone High School and brings two years of experience in education to his new role.
Jeff holds a master’s degree in teaching and previously served as an assistant principal at Christian Chapel Academy in Columbia. He is passionate about helping students understand complex ideas and watching them succeed.
Jeff became familiar with Southern Boone while traveling to high schools across Missouri as a college recruiter. “I was so impressed with the students and staff at Southern Boone that when my oldest child reached school age, I moved my family to Ashland so my children could be part of this district.”
Jeff has coached youth soccer, football and basketball for nearly 15 years. He is active in his church and serves in its worship band. Jeff is also a military veteran who served from 2002–2008, including two combat deployments during Operation Iraqi Freedom, and previously served as an Ashland police officer.
Jeff and his wife, a Southern Boone Middle School counselor, will celebrate their 24th wedding anniversary this fall.

This morning, Southern Boone School District employees gathered for our annual All-Staff Back-to-School Breakfast and Convocation! 🦅❤️🖤
School Superintendent Dr. Tim Roth provided a district update and shared an encouraging message with staff as we prepare for the year ahead.
Thank you to the Middle School Student Council for leading the Pledge of Allegiance, our High School Modern Band students for sharing their talents, and motivational speaker Charles Marshall for inspiring and encouraging our staff as we begin the new school year.
We’re excited to kick off a great school year, and we can’t wait to welcome students back next week! 🎉
