Work began today to remove the asphalt parking lot behind Southern Boone High School and near the outdoor stadium. The project will replace the existing lot with concrete, expand parking capacity, and add more than 40 additional parking spaces.
Construction on the parking lot project will continue throughout the summer and is the first of several facility improvement projects taking place across the district in the coming months.
These improvements were made possible by voters approving the $4 million No-Tax-Rate-Increase Bond Issue in April 2026. Additional projects planned this summer include parking lot improvements, roof repairs, and HVAC upgrades at multiple school buildings.

This morning, our middle school and high school Beta Clubs gathered to celebrate an incredible year of service to our schools and community. Together, these students completed an amazing 5,003 service hours during the 2025-2026 school year! 🦅❤️🖤

Students showcased their creativity through sewing, crocheting, knitting and needle felting—and their hard work truly stood out. ✂️🪡 Lucia Gares earned 1st place for the second year in a row 🥇, while Autumn Payne and Kaydence Pointer received honorable mentions 👏
Even more exciting, the work of these three students will be on display for the next 10 days at the Columbia Art League Gallery for the public to enjoy. 🖼️ We are incredibly proud of how these students represented Southern Boone! 🦅❤️🖤
