Students in Mrs. Hammann's kindergarten class enjoyed a super exciting baby chick week! They incubated eggs for a week and then, on Thursday, the eggs began hatching. The class was very excited to see the baby chicks.

SAVE THE DATE: Southern Boone Middle School will be hosting 8th Grade Promotion on Tuesday, May 21st at 6:30PM in the middle school gym. All 8th grade students and their families and friends are invited to attend the event as we celebrate the 8th grade students and all of their accomplishments while at the middle school.

The Southern Boone Learning Garden provided 9 lbs of carrots, nearly 7 lbs of radishes and 27 bags of mixed greens to the Southern Boone Buddy Pack Program this week!

Congratulations to Southern Boone High School Student Amelia Hawkins for being selected as a Missouri FFA State Officer. She will officially be sworn into office this Friday during the Missouri State FFA Convention in Columbia.

School Superintendent Dr. Tim Roth gave an update about the school district at this morning's Southern Boone Community Leader Breakfast hosted by the Southern Boone Economic Development Council. High school student Benton Struchtemeyer is the FBLA President and provided an update on how the students did at State FBLA Competition.

Southern Boone High School Junior Varsity Scholar Bowl Team was recognized during this week's school board meeting for earning 2nd place in the small schools division of the MACA JV State Tournament. Kerrington Condron finished in 19th place and Max Rice came in 8th in the individual rankings. Congratulations!

Members of Southern Boone's Future Business Leaders of America participated this week in the State FBLA Competition in Springfield. The Entrepreneurship team consisting of Alex Rice, Benton Struchtemeyer and Ryker Zimmerman earned 1st place and will be advancing to FBLA Nationals in Orlando, Florida at the end of June. Benton Struchtemeyer also finished 2nd place in the Securities and Investment objective test. Congratulations!

Our 3rd grade students from Southern Boone Elementary School had an absolute blast on Tuesday exploring the Missouri State Capitol in Jefferson City. From tales of pioneers to insights into Missouri's rich history, they learned a lot about the Show-Me State!

Camp Invention® is coming back to the Southern Boone School District! In partnership with the National Inventors Hall of Fame® Southern Boone is excited to offer the Camp Invention® program to children entering K through 6th grade. We also have volunteer positions open for 7th-12th grade! This inspiring, weeklong summer experience provides opportunities for open-ended, hands-on exploration of science, technology, engineering and more!
