Fish Fry Fundraiser

The Ashland Masonic Lodge #156 will host a community Fish Fry Fundraiser on Saturday, April 25, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., or until food runs out, at the lodge located at 215 E. Broadway in Ashland.

The event will feature fried fish, deep-fried potatoes, coleslaw and a variety of drinks. Meals are available for a suggested donation of $15 for adults and $10 for children ages 12 and under. Both dine-in and carry-out options will be available, and cash, card and check will be accepted.

Proceeds from the fundraiser will go toward helping pay off student meal debt in the Southern Boone School District. Through a partnership with the Masonic Home of Missouri, all donations will receive a 2-for-1 match up to $15,000—meaning every dollar donated will be tripled, significantly increasing the impact for local students and families.

“This is a great opportunity for our community to come together, enjoy a meal and make a real difference for local students,” said Bruce Martin, Secretary of Ashland Masonic Lodge #156 and one of the event’s organizers. “We know that something as simple as a meal can have a big impact, and we’re proud to support Southern Boone students and families in this way.”

Martin said the lodge is grateful for the continued support from the community and hopes for a strong turnout.

“The generosity we see in Ashland and across Southern Boone is truly special,” he said. “With the Masonic Home of Missouri providing a 2-for-1 match, every donation is tripled, which means we can help even more students in our schools.”

Southern Boone Superintendent Dr. Tim Roth expressed appreciation for the community’s support and emphasized the importance of ensuring all students have access to meals.

“We are incredibly thankful for the Ashland Masonic Lodge and everyone involved in organizing this event,” Roth said. “The support from our community continues to make a difference for our students and families.”

Roth said the district remains committed to making sure no student goes hungry while at school.

“At Southern Boone, we believe every student deserves access to a regular school meal, regardless of their financial situation,” he said. “Even if a student has a negative meal balance, they will always be able to receive the same meal as their peers. We do not provide alternative meals, because we know students have a harder time learning when they are hungry. This fundraiser helps us continue that commitment.”

Community members who are unable to attend the event can still contribute by making a donation. A QR code is available on event materials to allow for easy giving.
