Please join us in welcoming Cole Trautman to the Southern Boone School District! Cole brings four years of experience in education to his role as a 5th grade math teacher at Southern Boone Middle School.
Cole earned a bachelor’s degree in Education and a master’s degree in Educational Administration from Hannibal-LaGrange University.
Originally from Jefferson City, Cole is excited to return home and be closer to family. “It is exciting to be back home and helping the communities around where I grew up.”
Cole and his wife have been married for two years and have a 1-year-old son. They enjoy spending their free time together as a family.

🚧 📸 A bird’s-eye view of another completed summer construction project at Southern Boone High School!
The southeast parking lot near the outdoor stadium has been completely replaced, with the former asphalt lot upgraded to a new concrete parking lot.
The project adds more than 40 parking spaces, improves traffic flow and provides a more durable, long-term parking surface for students, staff and visitors.
This improvement was funded through the $4 million no-tax-rate-increase bond issue approved by Southern Boone voters in April 2026. 🦅❤️🖤

🍋 A Sweet Donation for a Great Cause! ❤️
On Wednesday, members of Southern Boone Elementary Summer School’s winning Lemonade Stand Charity Competition team presented a check for $4,919.35 to representatives from Ronald McDonald House Charities in Columbia.
Fourth-grade students Luke Thornhill, Liam Stone, Porter Campbell and Owen Lynn operated the competition’s highest-earning stand and selected Ronald McDonald House Charities to receive all proceeds raised during the summer school event.
We are proud of these students and all the teams for using their creativity, teamwork and entrepreneurial skills to make a difference! Thank you to our families, staff and community members who supported this special project.

In his free time, Tucker enjoys watching and coaching sports, especially football. He will also help coach football at Southern Boone High School. His faith is an important part of his life, and he dedicates much of his time to it.

A Southern Boone graduate, Ethan earned his degree from Southeast Missouri State University. He returned to the district last semester as a full-time substitute teacher.
Ethan is excited to give back to the community where he grew up. “I’ve always been proud to call this town and district my home. I’m extremely excited to give back to this community in my role as an educator.”
Ethan and his wife, Lanie, enjoy calling the area home. In his free time, he likes playing golf, watching movies and cheering on his favorite sports teams—especially the Kansas City Chiefs!

Alex graduated from Missouri State University and has taught students in kindergarten through third grade. After discovering a passion for literacy and reading instruction, Alex earned a master’s degree in Reading from William Woods University and a Special Reading Certification from the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
Alex is excited to join a community that provides positive opportunities for students and staff while demonstrating kindness and support for others.
Outside of school, Alex enjoys spending time with family, reading and taking walks. Alex’s son will begin first grade at Southern Boone Primary School this year.
