
Southern Boone High School held its annual Veterans Day Program this afternoon. The event included performances by the high school band, choir and color guard, guest speaker Colonel Don Koonce, recognition of veterans and more. Thank you to the veterans for attending today's event, but most importantly, thank you for serving our country.











Our school counselors spent a few days at the Missouri School Counselor Association Fall Conference this week. The counselors attended a variety of professional learning sessions that will help them better serve our students and community.


The high school library is having a $1 Used Book Sale! Pick up good deals on young adult books, adult crossovers, old fiction, and nonfiction books! Open from 4-7 p.m. this evening during parent-teacher conferences.


Mrs. Edwards' 5th grade math class made Halloween Candy Catapults last week using straws, rubber bands, paper cups, and a spoon. The students planned, built and tested their designs before competing with each other. The winning catapult launched candy a distance of five feet.

The school district is hosting a community forum about a potential April 2024 bond issue for a high school expansion construction project. The forum will be at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, November 14th, 2023 in the high school commons.

School Superintendent Dr. Tim Roth spent some time this morning reading the book, Apple Trouble! to Mrs. Himmelberg's kindergarten class.

4th grade students in Ms. Horton's elementary counseling class learned about being special and unique last week. They talked about how our fingerprints are unique and used magnetic powder to see their fingerprints on paper.





Primary Principal Brandy Clark, Elementary Principal Dr. Amy James and Middle School Assistant Principal Amanda Toepke are representing the school district at a job fair today at the University of Missouri in Columbia to help recruit new teachers.
