Today was the 100th day of school! As an annual tradition at the primary school, 1st grade students dressed up as 100 years old to celebrate the milestone.






Southern Boone Winter Guard performed their show, “You said Forever” last weekend at WGI Regionals in Blue Springs. They will be performing during the Courtwarming basketball games this Friday night and on Saturday at Francis Howell High School in St. Charles.

Southern Boone High School Courtwarming is this Friday night! The ceremony will be at the conclusion of the basketball games. Senior Royalty includes Emilee DeHaas, Ma'Jayla Dudley, Kyra Massie, Adalynn Carter, Aidan Bukowsky, Alex Criswell, Teller Mange and Mason Ahern.

Students in the elementary school participated in a Healthy Choices Poster Contest sponsored by Central Bank. One poster from each class was chosen to be on display at Central Bank. The students created posters about the importance of making healthy choices.





Students in Mrs. Golightly's high school chemistry classes finished their Black Excellence in STEM project last week, where they made a periodic table of scientists from different science, technology engineering, and math fields! They are learning about periodic trends and this was a great way to not only get hands-on learning by building their own periodic table but allowed students to research science throughout history and the contributions made to it by Black scientists.


The Southern Boone School Board of Education will meet for its monthly board meeting this evening in the central office boardroom. The meeting is open to the public.

This week is National School Counseling Week. It highlights the essential contribution of school counselors and the impact they have in helping students achieve school success and plan for a career. Thank you to our amazing counselors for everything they do for our students!


The school district's CSIP Committee met again on Thursday evening to continue working on an updated Continuous School Improvement Plan for the district. The committee has provided a lot of energy, positive discussion and a lot of progress during the two meetings this week.
The committee is made up of teachers, staff members, administrators, parents, students and community members. The CSIP serves as a long-range plan for addressing student performance and describes a specific set of actions to be undertaken over the next 3-5 years.
