Members of the Ashland Optimist Club came by the elementary school on Tuesday and gave each third grade student their own dictionary. Each year, the organization provides dictionaries to all third grade students. Thank you Ashland Optimist Club for your support of our students!
The Southern Boone County R-1 Public School District invites qualified persons interested in running for a position on the School Board to file to be a candidate in the April 4, 2023 election. There are three positions available, with three-year terms each. Filing will begin on December 6, 2022 at 8 a.m. Filing will end on December 27, 2022 at 5 p.m.
The Southern Boone School Board of Education is hosting a School Board Candidate Workshop on Wednesday, December 7th, 2022 at 6:30 p.m. in the central office boardroom.

Third grade students read the book, Balloons Over Broadway: The True Story of the Puppeteer of Macy's Parade by Melissa Street. Students then created their own balloon creations and had a parade throughout the elementary school.
Thank you for making the primary school's Book Fair a huge success! Thanks to your contributions, the school sold over $11,000 during the fair. We raised over $6000 for our school, which is used for the library, classroom teachers, and all of our students!
REMINDER: There will be no school November 23rd-25th. Students will return on Monday, November 28th. Have a great Thanksgiving Break!
